    Moira's new removable painted eyes

I made Moira some painted eyes today! They were made by pressing nearly dry epoxy sculpt into her eyes sockets, then removing them to dry completely for 24 hrs. I used acrylic paints to do the painting.

While I was painting them I pressed them into some sculpy for stability, otherwise they were too small and were pushed around by the brush.

Originally her glass eyes were green. I might do a second set of painted eyes that are green too.

You did a wonderful job on her eyes! I think that it is really difficult to paint eyes.

They look really good! I think painted eyes suit these dolls so well.

    Amazing job, Tovah!

Did you use cling film to protect the doll, when you were initially pushing the epoxy into eye sockets?

Mekare, I did not use cling wrap, the epoxy I was using was well set, not brand new mixed but an hour or more old. If the epoxy had been newly mixed I would have used something like cling wrap to protect the doll, but as it was not so sticky at the time, I just did it straight in there.

Thank you! I also want to try this approach. But I'm very new to everything 😊

Also I'm having this weird fascination with glass eye as of late...

But I want to make painted ones too
