I'd love to see your wire covered cats...

I also have tried felting in the past and while it does look neat, it is not a great hobby for me since you have to pay attention and CAN NOT LOOK AWAY for even a second, or JAB!
I will post some photos as soon as I can! Felting =pain for me. True that.

I covered a NIADA retreat and sat in on several felting classes. The ones that seemed to have the least needle sticks were the ones that use a solid center from which to build their "critters". Some wore thimbles, which also seemed to help. They did some amazing work.

I too would love to see some photos of your past works!

I am a regular needle felter. It is fun and fulfilling but yes, you have to pay very close attention to what you're doing. I usually have a show or movie on in the background that o have seen enough times and love so I don't have to really "watch it". Trying to felt over wore is especially hard amd takes great concentration!

I just LOVE needle felted critters and so wanted to try it. But oh my does that needle hurt!! I sew a LOT of leather by hand so I have plenty of protective leather thimbles for my thumbs but I guess I just did it wrong and got myself under the finger nail a couple of times!! If I every try it again I will try the core idea!
