You realize this is a very painful thread watching the porcelain get more and more out of reach! There is some comfort in the fact that Marina kept some of these so she has something to exhibit though I'm not sure which at this point. I hope she still has Agnetha and the Swan Princess! That way I would still have a chance so if I win the lotto I could make her offers she would have a hard time refusing!

Thank-you everyone for the price lists of Marina's porcelain's! I cannot believe some of the lower prices from a few yrs. ago. I must have been sleeping, because I surely would have been able to purchase at least 2 of them! Darn! lol.... But I am very thankful for having my most beautiful RED!

Thank you so much for the extra info on prices! One of the things I noticed is that the prices in 2011 were quite a bit higher than those at other galleries, like Strychin (even in later years, like Princess and the Frog and Sleeping Beauty). I wonder if it was because the gallery (Exhibition in Russian, 2011) had a commission cost or something? Cixi was $44,800 CND (like $45,000 USD with conversion rates) there but $29,700 USD in 2009 at Villa Terrace.

I wish I was around a bit earlier - I would have for sure snatched up some of these girls! It's a shock to see plenty of them within my budget of $25,000. Some of my favorites are Lolita, Olga, Twenty to Midnight, Beauty and the Beast, Amalgamation - but I can't pick. Also have a big crush on Elizabeth Bathory and Anna Karenina (would've been a bit of a stretch here - but I can't help but love these girls). All are so stunning - I can only imagine what it would be like to attend a gallery and see all of these beauties in person.

I updated my previous post with some more ED prices after I remember seeing them at Artfair 21 in 2009. Gotta admit that I did a double-take on Cinderella's price in 2009. I actually had to squint and double-check that I read the price correctly in one of my photos. But she was really on sale for 'only' 10.750 EUR.

I was at the opening night of the Fragility Show and it was a pretty awesome experience. I couldn't get enough of admiring all the stunning dolls. I really wish that Marina and Chad would do another big show in Western Europe someday.

As for the prices increasing, I guess it's a combination of gallery commissions and testing the market to see how much people are willing to pay for an ED.

Well it is a little painful to see dolls that were within reach before Marina became very famous for her dolls-

but on the other hand I am very happy for her success and thrilled for her that her dolls are increasingly recognized for the fine art pieces that they are.

I wish she and Chad would do a show in Seattle or Vancouver! My best chance of seeing some of her most gorgeous dolls in person...

I am quite sad that the Strychnin gallery is no more. Glad to have been there!

The older I get, the more I hate the money obsessed culture we live in! It takes time an effort to create something beautiful. What really worries me is that the kind of money required to purchase this beauty often comes from something ugly.
