I have seen some of her Monster High work, and I'm excited that she was able to do a RED!

    Nicolle's Dreams RED Faceup Video

Just watched the video. Her face up is beautiful! I honestly don't know how she gets her pencils sharp enough for those tiny lines! If ever I get my pencils that sharp, they just crumble instead of making a good line. A brush is harder to control but I just can't make the pencils work. She's such a pro!

A neat video arcane_love I agree with allurose, the razor blade pencils make for sharply focused high contrast face-up - which is very photogenic. But Nicolle's pressure on the point of the pencil must be very light and perfectly steady at the same time when she draws those lines on the face . . . too bad I can't do anything like this with a pencil But next time I paint a doll I'm going to try glossing the lower rim of the eye like Nicolle! I wondered before if maybe Marina does that to give the dolls a wet eyed look?

Oh I love Adreja's faceup videos! She did such a great job on the RED! I kind of wish she had shown attaching the eyelashes.

I've seen a couple of faceup artists post about the sharpeners they use... take a look at this Instagram post by Atelier Momoni:

And here is the one used by Rakeru Sensei (which is a Faber Castell):

    Rakeru Space, on Flickr

    In the caption she says:
I'm about to cry tears of joy! As a BJD face up artist, specialized in pencil line work, finding the perfect sharpener is a real pain ... These pencils are so soft, and tend to break easily; it's so frustrating to see them be consumed so fast
Now I know the saying 'A bad workman blames his tools'... but by golly I wish I could get my pencils that sharp!! I'm gona get me one of these sharpeners!!!

I'm using an exacto to sharpen my pencils, and even sand paper during the face-up process.
There are tutorials on how to sharpen pencils with a knife or exacto on YouTube.

What a great video and lovely to see her work on a RED.
I also sharpen my pencils with an exacto and a bit if sandpaper if needed. I hate chewing them through sharpener!
