    Experimenting with lights

Over the past few months I have been experimenting with making miniature lights which are suitable in scale for EDs and BJDs up to 40cm. They are going well so far with each one a technical improvement on the last.

This is my latest WIP .. a Dragonfly lamp, while I don' t have the beautiful Surrea to model for me any more I do have my last mannequin who fulfills the task perfectly!

The other lights are modeled by OOla (Popovy), Inas (Marmite Sue), Kyeema and Talarah (both porcelain bjds).

Thanks, they have been tremendously fulfilling. This is what I love so much about my crazy doll passion .. I can really explore my decades as an artist in so many fulfilling ways.

Each of these start as a creative concept and working out the technical design has taken extreme patience and plenty of wires, light bulbs and broken bits have gone into the bin.

The lampshade silk I design and print myself, and after a lot of experimentation .. all the lace, silk ribbon and embroidered applique is now all hand colored.

Plus I learnt to solder brass and do electrical wiring, and have a great many burnt finger tips lol!
The beads I have collected over two decades so I have a giant stash, its such fiddly work but the results are so beautiful especially with the little light switched on.

And it all fits on my desk too ... loving it!
They are for sale too, well mostly all sold so far, so I can keep making more .. yay Folk ask why do I keep selling stuff, its certainly not to make a fortune lol, each of these takes about 18-20 hours, I sell so I can keep making more!!
