    Lightbulb How to post photos

Attachments are not allowed in this forum. Please upload your photo first using your own hosting service, or use a free service such as flickr, Imageshack or Photobucket.

Next, click on this icon on the menu above the field where you enter the text of your post :

Then a window will open, in which you will type or paste the URL of your image.

Use the "preview post" button in order to check that your image is displaying correctly.

How to post photos from flickr

Flickr has now added an easy way to post photos on forums. This works for Flickr members and non-members alike.

Steps 1 and 2 - Go to the photo's Flickr page, ...and then click the "Share this" button above the photo:
Tip: If the words "Share this" are light grey (or if there's no "Share this" button at all), the photographer does NOT allow you to share their photos here on the forum -- sorry! (But you can still include a link to the Flickr page in your post, if you want.)

    Step 3 - Click "Grab the HTML/BBCode":
Tip: If there is no "Grab the HTML/BBCode" option, the photographer does NOT allow you to share their photos here on the forum -- sorry! (But you can still include a link to the Flickr page in your post, if you want.)

Step 4 - Choose the size you want (note: "medium" will almost always be the best choice!):

Step 5 - Choose the "BBCode" option:

Step 6 - Copy all of the code inside the text box:

Step 7 - Come back to the forum, and paste that code directly into your message (note: you don't need to click any of the little icons first -- just paste it straight in!):
Tip: Make sure you leave blank spaces before and after the code, so your words and photos don't squish together.

Step 7a (optional) - If you don't want the title printed underneath the photo, delete the second line of the code that you just pasted in:

This step still respects Flickr's link-back guidelines (and keeps them happy), because the photo itself will still be clickable!

...and that's it, you are done!

If you have more photos to post, just repeat those steps. You can include up to ten pictures per post (emoticons like this - - count as pictures too!). If you have more than ten pictures, create additional posts.

    ------------------------------

Note: Flickr might change this method at any time! If they do, please let me know so I can update this post.

    dear Aeroksana,

while on the photo page, click the little box with an arrow icon below the photo. it's called "More ways to share". from then on it's basically the same from step 4 onwards of the old flickr tutorial above.
    i hope it helps!

(and will try to update the tutorial when time allows)

P.S. This is what the new 'share' icon looks like with the new flickr:

You'll need to copy and paste the option that says BB code... Hope that helps - and now looking forward to lots of photos from you
Before renovation of Flickr I easily insert pictures from my Flickr account to anywhere here on forum, but now - damn it..
Amal, it sounds very strange, but this button with arrow, that you provided, is absent at my comp, and presence in my tablet, but on tablet I have no photos At the moment, there are two options on Flickr that page might look like - and then, later, when it is not written, there will be only one option. I am attaching screenshots - posmostrite can blind a little bit and I did not notice the right button?

In this new "new look" this button is on whole photostream only.

In this old "new look" is no button to bbcode, is only facebook and setera.

Oh my goodness, Aeroksana - I apologise!! I have only just seen your post now! I'm so sorry! Did you ever manage to find the button?

It is strange, the layout of flickr looks different from your screenshots, especially the second photo... But my guess is that if you press those three dots, next to the social media icons (on the far right, next to the 'p'), this will give you more options, including 'BB code'? On the third screenshot, the share button is not there at all?! It should be next to the comment/favourite button... Did you change your privacy settings, or anything?

Also, you are using Firefox? Is it the newest version? Do you have any other browser installed (like Internet Explorer)? If so, try flickr in another browser and see if there is any difference?

I keep trying and when I click the box on here after pasting, it just disappears and no pic shows up. I tried with flickr and photobucket.

tencats, are you following the steps in Annina's instructions above? The only thing that is different is the 'share' icon. Once you have the code from flickr, you paste it straight into your reply. You don't have to click any icons. The code goes right here as if you were typing a message. Does that make sense?
