    Hi Leigh,

I think you are just going to have to bite the bullet and accept that you can't get an exact "mannequin" without actually having an ED to do that from. unfortunatley!

I'm "frankendollying" a Barbie to approximate the measurements given for EDs.

I'm anxious to get it finished and to try a dress made with it and then get it to an ED owner for an actual trial fitting.

It's a work in progress and I should be done by the weekend. It won't be purdy like an ED but maybe useable, huh?

Chad, if you would, what is the measurement that I have marked above? There are 3 head measurements, 2 indicate circumference or diameter. Is the other height?

    Thanks!

Hey I know this. Yes that's the length or height of the head. That is the first and last doll question I'll know the answer to, until I have a doll.

    upon seeing Biscuitbears measurements here:
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/biscuitbear/4470303472/

i remembered the ones i took for someone in January and realized i should post them up too, they are here:

if you point your cursor on the cm measurements you see inch conversions i added (converted with the help of google).
keep in mind my doll has the old bust and permanent hair.

I was feeling a creative spark today and I wanted to try making something for my hopefully future ED. I looked at Marina's site, but I was wondering if someone could provide some measurements for me. These are not on the site. What is the circumference of an ED's head? Also, what is the measurement across the breastbone (from one arm to the other -- not including arms-- so not shoulder to shoulder)... If that makes sense. I would love to have these measurements (inches or cm would be great).

*edit* Silly me. The head circumference is on there! I think I just need the breastbone measurement.

Thanks BiscuitBear. There is a lot of information, especially in the Flicker post. I did take a look at those measurements, but the measurement I want isn't there. It has the circumference of the breast in the flicker post. There is shoulder measurements on the ED site -- Maybe I can estimate. My question is the breast bone, if one were to measure just across the top from arm to arm and not include measuring the arm part. I want to make an ornate beaded collar that would "sit" on top of a dress. I just want the front measurement. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I can't seem to find that measurement.

That's fine, I meant it would be better to ask in the measurement thread. So I'll move the posts.

my Idunn has the old upper torso part which is slightly broader there, so i think someone with a newer doll should measure that for you, dollutional.

i hope you'll show your result once you've created it, it sounds beautiful!

Thanks biscuit Bear (I get so caught up sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees)

Thanks Annina. Perhaps someone will see this and measure a breast bone for me. Also an upper thigh?? I was thinking of making some fishnet hose. (I have the materials -- and it seems I have something I haven't had for months -- time...).
